Handmade Arcade First Of Weekly Festive Funtimes!

We had a very festive time this past Saturday. Under the cover of McCoys Arcade we welcomed makers from across the land (especially those really local makers who could make it through the landslides and floods!). With a cup of hot mulled apple in hand and a soundtrack provided by the delightful folk of Devon we browsed and chatted and had a really great day, thanks so much to those who made it down to peruse the stalls - it's really great that people choose to put their money directly back into the local economy and support creativity, picking up truly personal gifts and bits n bobs made by hand :)
There was a lot of fun going on in the Bunyip Beads and Buttons Workshop - with "Drop in or Pop in, Make and Take Sessions" as well as the brilliant local Silent Cinema "PUNY GODS" which was a headphone sellout! Thanks David Salas for organising these! Keep an eye out for an evening of local films food music and good times with friends in the very near future!

Here are a few pictures we took of the day... Hope to see you NEXT SATURDAY for a really packed and festive Handmade Arcade! Keep an eye on the event page for what's coming up on the day :) We'll be sure to keep you posted.... "Make Your Christmas"

Chainbreaker is SUCH a great read! Pick up a copy in the NGNG shop - while stocks last that is :)

We had a great selection of music on the day all arranged by Tom from Exeter Local Records! who also came to Make Your Christmas with CD's Records and suchlike all from local people!

Madeline Bunyan has some really beautiful glass jewelllery! Don't worry if you missed her at this one as she'll be here next week and in fact every week until Christmas :)

The No Guts No Glory shop was soooo busy all day :)

Ollies Mum had an amazing selection of Jumpers that really brightened up the arcade - I really can't imagine being unhappy whilst wearing one of these! the great thing is - that she can make one for you in ANY colour with pretty much any pattern on it - and her prices are a steal! I've asked for a red cropped cardi with crazy patterns all over :) The ultimate Christmas Jumper! If you have designs for a jumper or cardi for yourself or a friend, please send us an email at No Guts No Glory or Handmade Arcade and we can make the dream happen! (info@ngngdesign.com)

The arcade feels so cosy with it's new decorations made by Claire owner of Good Golly Miss Molly!

Sarah Blackmore is a lovely lady who makes some really super animals. Her creations are always full of humour and character! Check out this little guy..

The bat was possibly my favourite - Sarah says that she never really has a plan when she's making a creature - just an idea and some basic prep and hey presto! Some fantastically quirky character appears!

Her favourite part is putting on the face at the end :) especially choosing eyes and such! Hopefully Sarah will be around at some of the other Handmade Arcade events soon :)

Bringing some sunshine to the arcade with tie dye jumpers from The Real McCoy!

The mulled apple cider was a real treat! Someone even described it as liquid gold! Come grab a cup next week at the entrance to the arcade and pick up a scrummy Chocolate Orange Vegan Cupcake while you're there - Ahhh Christmas tastes and smells!

Ella Howard Jess and Rosie Harbottle - had a gorgeous selection of prints cards and photography! You can now find some of the beautiful work of Rosie Harbottle in The NGNG shop!

Awww, thought I'd end this very jumper related blog with a picture of a very happy new jumper owner... everyone loves a good jumper!

Hope to see you next week for more festive fun at Handmade Arcade on Saturday :)

Peace,

Hayley and Nathan!
